Evli Bank Plc, founded in 1985, is an independent and privately owned Finnish investment service company with 370 employees spread throughout offices in Helsinki, Stockholm, Luxembourg and New York. The company's three main businesses are brokerage, asset management and corporate finance. Evli Bank is a member of the Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Tallinn stock exchanges and of the German-Swiss derivatives exchange, Eurex.

Business Challenges

The IT department at Evli Bank is using Terminal Servers and has a decentralized IT management structure, where each country has its own IT equipment and staff. Users are distributed throughout four different countries and need access to over 40 different applications. On average, each user in the four countries accesses seven applications daily. Evli Bank wanted a better application management tool for its environment that provided better control over the company's systems and lowered overall IT costs. At the same time, Evli Bank wanted to provide better application access for end users.

Solution

Propalms TSE originally called New Moon Canaveral iQ was selected by Evli Bank to centrally deploy and manage the 40 applications users needed to access, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, ERP, HR and financial applications. By the end of August 2002, when the implementation was complete, Evli Bank used Canaveral iQ to deploy applications to over 400 employees.
