Propalms, Inc. Announces New Release of VPN Software to Include Endpoint Security Management Framework
Posted 11th August 2009
MALTON, ENGLAND--(WORLDSTOCKWIRE)—August 11, 2009 -- Propalms, Inc. (PRPM.PK) is pleased to announce the release of Propalms VPN 3.4.03. This new release includes an enterprise grade endpoint security policy management tool which will help organizations keeps unsafe devices away from network or critical applications.
Propalms Endpoint Security is a powerful management framework to provide granular access control based on how trustworthy and clean the user's device is.
VPN administrators can now create device profiles based on Antivirus, Firewalls, Anti-Spyware, MAC address and IP address and then categorize connecting devices based on which configured policies are satisfied by the device. The scanning of endpoint devices which takes less than 2 seconds happens on the end user machine but the policy evaluation is done by Propalms VPN server. Based on the calculated trusted level, a device can be allowed access to all applications, a subset of applications or can be denied access to login.
The endpoint scan features include checking for a particular or any type of Antivirus/Firewall/Antispyware products, checking for virus definition updates, checking for the last scan date and checking the integrity of the products.
After completion of endpoint security scanning the user is provided with remediation information to fix their endpoints in case they fail any policy.
Propalms VPN supports more than 200 endpoint security products and more are added regularly. Administrators can create custom policies based on the corporate requirements. The endpoint scan engine is built into the Propalms VPN clientless VPN mode as well as Propalms VPN client to make endpoint scan fully transparent to users.
Propalms Endpoint security feature also includes a data-wiper feature which cleans up any data that is cached by user's browser during the VPN session.
Propalms hosts a virus definition database on Propalms VPN server which gets updated every hour through an online service. This feature makes sure that endpoints are scanned against any type of zero day attacks we well as avoids the burden on administrators to keep updating endpoint security policies on the VPN server.
“This new feature within Propalms VPN will make it a true Enterprise Class product, allowing secure remote access as well as enforcing an additional level of security for all of our existing and new customers.” Stated Owen Dukes COO, Propalms Inc.
