Propalms Provides Remote Printing for All Users

Proplams has recently become compatible with Ingenica UniPrint, making it simple for Propalms (Tarantella) Users to print documents from any computer to any manufacturers' printer while simultaneously reducing printer bandwidth utilization by up to 90 percent.

Targeted to the Microsoft-centric enterprise, the Propalms Terminal Services Edition (TSE) is the ultimate companion to Windows Terminal Services in Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003. TSE offers Windows Terminal Services users enhanced security for Internet-based application access, load balancing for managing larger numbers of users and servers and policy-based application management services to ensure appropriate access at the user level. In addition, TSE's native support for the RDP protocol to access applications allows customers to preserve their investment in Microsoft IT infrastructure.

By replacing all manufacturers' printer drivers with a single PDF generator at the terminal server, Ingenica's UniPrint makes it easy for server-based users to print PDF documents from any location to any accessible printer, irrespective of manufacturer - not only eliminating printer compatibility issues and greatly reducing printer-related help-desk costs, but also greatly simplifying individual printer access management within increasingly-complicated server-based environments.
