What’s New in TSE 6.0?
Windows 2008 Support:
- TSE 6.0 fully supports Windows Server 2008
- Extended support for all New Terminal Services Enhancements
Backwards Compatibility:
- TSE 6.0 can manage Windows Server 2000, 2003 and 2008
- Run ‘mixed’ TSE teams and ease transition over to Windows 2008 while still using a common management interface across all servers
TSE ‘Intelligent’ Connection Manager:
- Many Windows 2008 Terminal Services features will require the latest Desktop OS for support. Therefore if a customer does not update all of their client devices they will not get the latest features from Windows 2008 TS
- Propalms TSE 6.0 will allow users to take advantage of this functionality if the client is compatible, but more importantly will provide a mechanism where if the client is not of sufficient levels still offer them an alternative for the features they require
NEW User Interface:
- A new TSE Dashboard interface using advanced controls to show graphical displays of critical metrics within the Propalms Team
- New easy navigation menus, search facility, hyperlink menus and tooltips simplify the administrative experience
- Simple, Intuitive layout
Printing:
- HyperPrint – built-in PDF printing solution
- Customizable printer naming scheme
Virtual Desktop Management:
- Allows provisioning of ‘Virtual Desktops’ via Propalms TSE
- Currently works with VMware Server
- Perfect for customers looking for easy introduction to VDI
- Ideal for ‘Power User’ requirements
- Start ‘VD’ instance on least loaded Virtual Desktop Server
- Assign users their own personal virtual desktop
Virtual IP:
- Many applications have a requirement for a unique IP address per user instance in order for them to work
- In Terminal Services all users by default get assigned with the server’s IP address to which they connect
- Virtual IP allows the assignment of a unique IP address to each Propalms TSE session from a pool of addresses which solves this problem
TSE Session Recorder:
- Records Propalms TSE sessions for Compliance, Security and Support capabilities
- TSE Sessions can easily be re-played from within the Propalms TSE Management Console
Content Publishing and Redirection:
- Publish individual files of all types directly to the LaunchPad
- Redirect Media and HTTP requests to local devices rather than running on the Terminal Server
User Principal Name Support:
- Ability for a user to login to Console or LaunchPad using format username@domain.com
